Optimize Your Site’s Mobile Experience

Woman shopping using tablet pc and credit card .indoor.close-up The use of mobile devices in e-commerce continues to grow and directly impact the way all retailers, especially e-commerce businesses, interact and communicate with their customers. According to a recent survey by comScore, one third of online shoppers from the top 10 major e-retailers shop solely from their mobile devices. Now more than ever, reassessing your site’s mobile experience is key to converting consumers into customers. In fact, in October 2013 alone, 57% of all e-retail visitors used a smartphone or tablet to shop. Here are a few things you can do to make your mobile site experience great:

  • View your site on mobile devices[iPhone, Android, tablet, etc] and test out it’s functionality. Is it simple to find products and navigate menus? How is difficult is it to see product info, add a product to the shopping cart and checkout? Identifying issues that keep your site experience from being simple and fun to browse and purchase is key. • While all CoreCommerce stores are mobile friendly, consumers are now viewing your site across a variety of devices. Consider using one of our free responsive web design theme templates. Responsive design orientates itself based on the screen size of the device, creating a great site experience regardless of the screen size or device it’s being viewed on.
  • Many times, one of the most neglected areas of a site is the brand experience. Be sure that your brand is translated well across platforms and devices. Think image quality, logo size, font, color scheme and key text above the fold, to name a few.
