Here is an overview of uploading images to your store.

Uploading Product Photos in your Admin

To upload a product photo, here is what you need to do:

• Log in to your CoreCommerce admin
• Hover over the Inventory tab and click on View Products
• Edit the product you want to upload the image to
• Go to the Photos tab
• Click the Upload Image button and browse for the file you want to upload
• Note: If you want to upload each photo type (see below) individually, be sure to click the Advanced mode link in the yellow message box

Photo Types
Main Photo: This is the main photo that appears on the product detail page.

Large Pop-up Photo: This is the photo that is used for the zoom-in feature and the lightbox feature. If you want to use either of these features, you must have a large pop-up photo uploaded.

Thumbnail: This is the thumbnail that will appear in the product list, search results, and widgets.  If the option 'Use as List Thumb' is turned on, the system will use the main photo to generate the thumbnail.

Product Details Thumbnails: These are the thumbnails that will appear beneath the main photo on the product detail page. These will only appear if you have two or more uploaded. When you click on one of the thumbnails, it will change the main photo.

Product Detail Image Widget Photo: This image widget shows up ONLY on the product page that it's tied to. For this to show up, you will need to add the widget to the left or right sidebar. Go to Design > Store Designs > Widgets tab and add the Product Detail Image Widget.

Custom Product Detail Photos: These photos will appear at the bottom of the product details, below the description, product reviews, etc.

Photo Sizes
When you upload photos, some of them are automatically resized. These are the main photo, thumbnails, and product details thumbnails (as well as the swatch photos and mobile photos). You can set the max dimensions for these by going to:

Settings > Inventory Settings > Images tab

Please note that these settings will only affect images with dimensions that are larger than the max settings. If the uploaded image is smaller, it will not be resized to match the max dimensions.

Bulk Uploads
If you want to do a bulk upload of your photos rather than uploading them for each product within the admin, you can do this via FTP and a CSV import. (If you're unfamiliar with FTP, check out this article.)

Once you are connected via FTP, you'll need to upload all of your images to the _imports/_images directory.

Then in your admin you will need to go to Inventory > Import Products. Here you can import a CSV file for your products and the main set of images for them. Make sure that in the photo fields, you use only the file name (e.g. product.jpg).

If you want to use multiple photo sets for a product, you'll need to select Import Product Photos. For personalization photos, you will need to use Import Product Personalizations. At this time it's not possible to import option photos.
