1. Design Your Store
This is an important element for your store. This determines what your store will look like to your customers. With CoreCommerce, through the use of your web browser, you can choose from a variety of ready-to-use templates (NO HTML knowledge required), use our generic design template (NO HTML knowledge required), upload your own custom design (HTML knowledge required) or simply use "add-to-cart" links or buttons on your existing web site design (some HTML knowledge required).

2. Add Some Products
This is what you will be selling. This can be tangible goods like T-shirts, books, auto parts, etc. This can also be intangible goods like mp3 or other downloadable e-goods. You can either enter them into CoreCommerce through your web browser or you can upload your own spreadsheet of products into CoreCommerce.

3. Setup Payment
With every store you need a way to collect payments from your customers. With CoreCommerce you have a variety of ways to collect payment. You can choose to accept credit cards, checks, money orders, COD's, purchase orders, Google Checkout, PayPal and other payment methods. With CoreCommerce you just point and click to setup any payment method. It is just as simple as checking a few boxes and clicking save.

4. Configure Sales Tax
How you collect sales tax (sometimes called VAT or GST in countries outside of the United States) is different based on the state, county and country. With this in mind, CoreCommerce gives you the flexibility to setup sales tax in a variety of ways through an easy-to-use sales tax wizard. You can setup a flat sales tax rate for any state (IE California 8.75% and Nevada 6.5%). You can setup sales tax by counties within a particular state. You can choose to charge sales tax before or after a discount (ie coupon) is applied. You can also choose to include shipping as a taxable item. You can also setup VAT for countries outside of the United States and Canada. You can have VAT be inclusive or exclusive of your product pricing. You can setup flat tax for any country (IE Australia 17% GST). Canada has its own sales tax setup wizard. You can setup GST, PST, HST, QST and PEI. Also, with sales tax you can mark cetain items as tax exempt, choose certain customers to be tax exempt and even classify membership groups (ie wholesalers) as being tax exempt.

5. Configure Shipping
If you are selling tangible goods (ie shirts, books, etc) you most likely will need to have shipping charges for your customers. The customer when placing an order on your site with CoreCommerce will be presented with the shipping options you setup in the store's administration area. CoreCommerce already has built-in UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, Canada post and Australia Post live rates. This allows you to get live rates from the services using the weights and dimensions of your products. UPS and USPS also offer live package tracking where you or your customers can view live package tracking directly on your web site without having to go to UPS or USPS web site. With each live rate you can pad the rates by a dollar amount or a percentage amount and you can charge handling fee. Besides the live rate, you can also choose from other shipping methods. In total there are over 13 different ways to calculate shipping for your customers. If you are selling intangible products (Ie MP3 downloads) your customers will not be charged any shipping charges.
