There was a very good article on Forbes about ecommerce and social media. One important piece to take away was this statement:

“So while traditional retailers have been struggling to survive, forward-thinking online merchants have unleashed a wave of innovation that is improving the economics of e-commerce.”

This is exactly why CoreCommerce store owners have a leg up on all of their competitors. We are always ahead of the curve, while the rest is always 6 to 9 months behind. For example, CoreCommerce ecommerce store owners have access to our Facebook Social Commerce application to post products directly in Facebook for a couple of years, we have integrated with Picnik, Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, Twitter and more. We have had these features for a while, which gives CoreCommerce store owners a huge advantage. Just imagine the revenue you could be losing by being with another provider who is always playing catch up to CoreCommerce. CoreCommerce is the #1 forward thinking ecommerce provider and we continue to give businesses a huge advantage over their competition.

Another one of our great customers, Guitar Syndicate, was headlined in the Wall Street Journal. Guitar Syndicate discussed how CoreCommerce Facebook app, Social Commerce, has driven revenue to their CoreCommerce store.

“Guitar Syndicate, which was founded last year, has seen its overall online sales grow by 17% since its Facebook store was added in mid-April, according to Mr. Burnett.”

You can read the entire article here.

If you are running an online store you need to tap into the social marketing power of Facebook.  The first step would be to use CoreCommerce’s Social Commerce application with Facebook.  This would allow you to sell your products directly on your Facebook profile or page.  Currently there are almost 1,000 Facebook users using Social Commerce.

This type of marketing is really important in today’s marketplace.  Your customers and friends can browse certain products directly on your Facebook page and then purchase them from your CoreCommerce store.

A good example is with a client of CoreCommerce, Abba Java.   On their Facebook page, they have a tab called My Store, after they setup the Social Commerce application with CoreCommerce.

Social Commerce Example 1

When customers or friends of Abba Java click on the My Store tab (you can name it anything you want), they will then see specific products Abba Java choose to display on Facebook (See Picture Below).  From here customers could add these items directly to their cart and checkout through your CoreCommerce store.

Social Commerce Example 2

CoreCommerce store owners like Abba Java have been using this feature for over 1 year. They have seen a dramatic increase in sales and visibility with the Social Commerce application.

Here is another reason to use Twitter/Facebook for your ecommerce store. ComScore conducted a survey and found that 28 percent of those who have begun their holiday shopping this season said social media has influenced their purchases.

Seven percent of respondents said they followed a Facebook fan page to find special offers and deals, while 6 percent said they have been influenced by a friend’s Facebook status update referring to a particular product.

Five percent of those surveyed said they had followed a company on Twitter to take advantage of special offers and deals. Three percent said that a friend’s Twitter tweet helped trigger their product purchases.

Need real proof. Dell reported that it made $6.5 million in sales for PCs, accessories and software thanks to its promotional placement on Twitter.

The best news for CoreCommerce store owners, is you can tap into the power of social networking. With Facebook and Twitter integration directly integrated into your CoreCommerce store, CoreCommerce store owners will have a leg-up on the competition.

If you need a store which can drive sales and integrate directly into social networking, try CoreCommerce for free for 15 days. Remember no credit card is required.

Hey folks:

We have added a few more features and have cleaned up a few places in the admin for easier navigation.

* Twitter/Facebook for your Products – When you add/edit a product (under general section), you can now choose if you want to allow your customers to post your products directly on their Twitter or Facebook account. This is a great social marketing tool.

* Added Recently Viewed Widget – If you add this widget, your customers will be able to view items they recently viewed but have not added to their shopping cart.

* Compare Products – This will allow your customers on your store to compare up to 4 products side by side. Just check the compare checkbox under product settings to enable this feature.

* # of Featured Products – You can set the maximum number of featured products you want to display on the homepage.

* Email a Quote – You can change the email a friend feature to be email a quote. This would allow your customers to see an email a quote link on your product detail page and the form would be sent to the store’s administrators email.

* Send Add to Cart to Cross Sell Page – You can now choose to send your customers to a cross sell only page after an item is added to cart by the customer.

Thanks,
